4 Fabulous Finds of 2013

As we finish out the year (and hopefully get some R & R over break) here are my top four finds for teachers looking for something a little different.

This is the most amazing and inspiring website.  Technology Rocks Seriously is created by an amazing lady and an Instructional Technology Coordinator who creates colorful posters with inspiring quotes.  All of them are free to print and too addictive to stop printing.

Click on her printables button and discover all of her fabulous creations.  I have turned her posters into an inspiration board in my class. She has other technology resources too.

School Girl Style probably saved my sanity this summer. For those that follow my blog you know I had to unwilling change rooms this year. Leaving behind the castle for the dundgeon I needed something to change my attitude and Melanie Ralbusky’s,  site, saved me.  She provides dozens of ideas for adding color, style and whimsy to your classroom. You don’t have to redo your entire classroom but just using some of her concepts can have a huge impact. As I always say, “Start small”, and begin with just picking a color theme or redoing your library. The results will be remarkable.

In need of a comprehensive resource for implementing the Common Core Standards? Check out the materials at Engage New York. They provide entire units of study on most of the math standards. Click on your grade and then one of the mathematics modules to investigate what this site has to offer.

Looking for ways to send a creative thank you gift? Check the creations at this link at Buzz Feed.

These are some of the most orginal and often simple gifts to make. If that wasn’t enough to satisfy your creative side, check out my Pinterest Board: Parent & Teacher Appreciaton Gifts.

Remember there is still time to Like our Facebook page and have a dollar donated to the  Juvenile Diabetes Research Federation with each new click.
